Sunday 7th April 10am-4pm

This is a great day for anyone who wants to have a real crack at throwing clay on a potter’s wheel. Practice makes perfect, so enjoy spending all day learning how to throw pots until you make one you're proud of! This will be a small class of people and is suitable for beginners. Your top three pots (chosen by you) will be fired in the kiln and ready for collection in 2 weeks. If you would like to book into the studio to paint them with glazes and have them fired again it is £6 per pot.

This workshop costs £100. Free tea and coffee available, please bring a packed lunch/snacks. There are aprons and towels but best to wear old clothes and shoes!

Tuesday 9th April 7-9pm

Enjoy making this fruity bowl. A great size for serving a dessert or as a fruit bowl. Choose whether you would like to paint cherries or strawberries and choose your own colour way, paint the outside and use a silk screen design to put the pattern onto the inside of the bowl. The bowl will be fired and ready for collection in one week.

Tuesday 9th April and 23rd April 7pm-9pm

Enjoy learning how to make this fun highland cow mug. In the first session you will be given a clay mug which you will add all the cow details onto including hair (made with an extruder) horns and features, personalise it as much as you like. The mug will have its first firing and during the second session enjoy painting your mug with glazes in a colour way of your choice. The mug will be fired in the kiln again and ready to collect one week after the last session.

Tuesday 16th April 7pm-9pm

Enjoy learning how to paint either a cockerel or hen using cobblestone paints that crackle in the kiln. Pick a colour of your choice for the background and learn how to apply black or white cobblestone glaze. Your chicken will be fired and ready for collection in one week.

Our new clay studio is now open and we look forward to welcoming you our clay classes. This is a 6 week course aimed at all levels of ability. During the course you will learn how to make different shaped pots and vessels using moulds and how to make sprigs (small 3D designs that you add to your clay piece as a decoration) and the art of sgraffito into clay, with plenty of time for painting your pieces with bright glazes. You are also welcome to have a go on the potters wheel. A tutor will show you techniques and teach you practical clay skills that can be applied to many different projects. The course includes firing and glazing the clay. It also includes 10kg of soft white earthenware clay and all materials and tools.

The course cost £150 for 6 weeks. Free tea and coffee is available.

Enjoy learning how to make this clay mirror. Learn how to roll the clay, cut and attach different bird and leaf shapes and add details. The clay will be dried and fired in the kiln and ready to be painted with glazes in two weeks time (19th May). Once it has been painted it will then be fired in the kiln again and ready for collection in one week.
