May/June Half Term (Saturday 25th May- Sunday 2nd June 2019)


Listed below are some exciting workshops that you can book your child onto in advance. We suggest your child wear old clothes for all activities. The workshops are suitable for ages 7+.

As well as the daily workshops the main studio is also open every day during these days from 10am to 5pm. Please do drop in to paint some pottery or design t-shirts, there's no need to book. 

Please note: We cannot accommodate parents in the classroom during the workshop. Free tea and coffee is available and there is seating in the adjacent room should you wish to stay.

Cancellation policy

We all know that sometimes despite our best intentions 'life' occasionally gets in the way. If you have booked a workshop and can no longer make it we can refund your booking if you let us know 14 days before the date of the workshop.  If you have to cancel less than 14 days unfortunately we cannot offer a refund as we will have bought materials and arranged tutors.  

Children's Art Class: Watercolour Techniques

Sunday 26th May 10am-1pm

During this beautiful workshop you’ll be learning exciting art techniques using wax resist, edging, salt, and much more, before creating your own underwater masterpiece.

This class costs £30 and is suitable for age 7+. Please bring a packed lunch

Young Adult Class: How to Use Colour for Effect

Sunday 26th May 2pm-5pm

This class will take you through a journey of colour, how it has been used in the past and how you an use it in your own art to create beautiful effects. You will be creating your own portrait using acrylic paints.

This workshop costs £30 and is suitable for ages 12+. Please bring a snack.

Zip Mouth Monster Cushion

Tuesday 28th May 10am-4pm

During this exciting workshop you'll have the opportunity to create your very own monster cushion. Enjoy designing your piece and picking fabrics before sewing by hand and on the machine, and learning how to add a zip for its mouth!

Harry Potter Inspired Clay and Wheel Throwing

Wednesday 29th May 10am-4pm

In the morning enjoy designing and creating this sorting hat out of clay. In the afternoon you will be painting a Potter themed mug and learning how to throw a pot on the wheel. The hat and pot will be fired once and can be painted in the studio for £5 per item or painted at home in acrylics, as pictured.

Colourful Glass Day

Thursday 30th May 10am-4pm

This is the perfect day for anyone who wants to learn about working with glass. We'll be making two colourful pieces  In the morning we will be using coloured frit to make a beautiful coaster of your own design and in the afternoon you'll be using pre cut pieces of glass, confetti, stringers and rods to make a pendant for a necklace or key ring.

Young Adult Class: Painting Flowers

Sunday June 2nd 2pm-5pm

This lovely class will show you how to bring flowers to life in your art. The studio is located on a flower farm, so we’ll have some peonies or roses to draw from life.

This workshop costs £30 and is suitable for ages 12+. Please bring a snack.

Understanding Colour and Creating Impact

Friday 31st May 10am-4pm

We’ll be looking at how colour creates impact during the course of this exciting workshop. As part of the learning you will create colour wheels to show which colours compliment each other and which contrast, and also look at how different colours create a different mood in your artwork. You will then move onto the main piece and enjoy creating an impactful animal canvas using acrylics.
