Half Term holiday workshops 23rd October- 29th October

Listed below are some exciting half term workshops that you can book your child onto in advance. We suggest your child wear old clothes for all activities. The workshops are suitable for ages 7+.

As well as the daily workshops the main studio is also open every day during the school holidays from 10am to 5pm. Please do drop in to paint some pottery or design t-shirts, there's no need to book.

Please note: We cannot accommodate parents in the classroom during the workshop. Free tea and coffee is available and there is seating in the adjacent room. 

Snail painting and slime making workshop

Sunday 22nd October 10.30-1pm

Enjoy making your own slime and painting a snail 'slime pot' to store your slime in! Paint the ceramic snail with special crackle and crystal glazes to make fun effects. The slime can be taken home on the day and the snail will be fired and ready in one week. 

The workshop costs £25, Please bring a snack.

Harry Potter Inspired Day

Monday 23rd October 10am - 4pm

This exciting day is all about celebrating the world of Harry Potter through art. You'll have the opportunity to paint your own Hogwarts inspired castle or mug along with your choice of two characters which can be secured onto it.

Make your own Mosaic Art Day

Tuesday 24th October 10am-4pm

Due to popular demand we will be holding another mosaic day during half term- this time with a new owl project! Enjoy learning all about the exciting art of mosaics before having a go yourself. You'll spend time creating your designs and use glass and special glass-nippers to turn your designs into beautiful mosaics to take home.

Ceramics Masterclass for Children

Wednesday 25th October 10am-4pm

This is a great opportunity for you to learn all about special ceramic techniques, effects, tools and glazes all in one day! During this masterclass you'll use unique paints to create exciting effects (as seen on the rusty robot pictured). By doing diverse projects throughout the day you'll come out feeling like a ceramics pro.

Exotic Animals in Art

Thursday 26th October 10am-4pm

During this day we will explore the different types of animals found in the rainforest and jungle, looking at how they are represented in art. After choosing a favourite animal you will learn how to paint it onto a dark canvas using bright acrylic paint, diverse tools and brush stroke techniques. In the afternoon you will work on a striking ceramic project.

Create your own Miniature Garden

Friday 27th October 10am-4pm

Create a wonderful mini world during this exciting workshop. In the morning you will paint your own fairy house or dragon. In the afternoon you'll design the garden bowl with tools. We'll give you grass and plant seeds to complete your magical garden.

A lesson in pumpkin painting

Saturday 28th October 10am-2pm

Spend a fun morning designing your own pumpkin and then painting it with metallic and bold acrylic paints. Learn lots of masking off, stamping and brushstroke techniques. 

The workshop costs £30 per person, please bring a packed lunch.

FREE flashing firefly sewing workshop (pm)

Saturday 28th October 1pm-3pm

Merge electronics with textiles by using electrical conductive thread, a stitchable battery, an LED and felt fabric. Sew it all together to create a felt fire fly with a body that glows.  This can be turned into a brooch or a key fob. Suitable for adults and children aged 8+. 

The is a free workshop supported by the Craft Council as part of their Make:Shift: Do Festival. A nationwide programme of craft and innovation workshops happening on 27th & 28th October.

Elf Academy (day one)

Wednesday 20th December 10am-4pm

Enjoy our day long workshop where the children will learn important elf skills. Learn how to make your own Christmas wreath using natural foliage, make a felt robin or pudding, tree decoration and make a shrink plastic bauble. Suitable for ages 7+ 

This workshop costs £40, please provide your children with a packed lunch.

Elf Academy (day three)

Friday 22nd December 10am-4pm

Enjoy our day long workshop where the children will learn important elf skills. Learn how to design and print your own elf apron and design and decorate an edible gingerbread house with icing and sweets. Suitable for ages 7+

Thursday 21st December 10am-4pm

Enjoy our day long workshop where the children will learn important elf skills. Learn how to make some lovely Christmas presents (parents look away now) including soap making and mug painting. All items ready to take home on the day. Suitable for ages 7+

Occasionally photos will be taken of the children doing an activity or of their work, to feature solely on the studio's social media and possibly local press. We will always ask permission but if the child in your care cannot be in a photo please let us know when booking a place.
